The purpose of this Golf Club is to foster and promote fellowship and competition on a regular and ongoing basis for our members and to develop a superior reputation in the golfing community that will enable us to perpetuate our love for the game with greater ease and convenience. Let it be noted that as we develop our reputation, we will attract members with the desired qualities in our sport.
Membership is currently limited to 40 members.
A member must play 12 rounds each calendar year. Failure to comply will result in revocation of membership for the following year, except that the Board may make hardship exceptions under such circumstances as it deems appropriate. Membership in the Club may also be terminated if at least a majority of the voting members of the Board, and at least ⅔ of voting members, vote to terminate a Member.
A prospective member must have a current USGA GHIN Index rating of 30.0 or less. If this rating increases at any time thereafter, he will be required to use the 30.0 rating in all club play.
All prospective members must submit a signed application with the sponsor's signature. Applicants must be full-time residents of Hawaii County. Applications will be referred to the Board of Directors and the sponsor shall be responsible for advising the status of the application.
All new members shall be assessed an initiation fee of $50.00 which shall include $10 toward the hole-in-one pot. A hole-in-one during any Club event pays an amount equal to ten times the number of members in the Club at the time of the hole-in-one. In the event of a hole-in-one, all members will be assessed $10.00 to replenish the “Pot”. All persons listed on the “Roster” as of January 2010 shall be considered Charter Members and their initiation fees shall be waived. Beginning January 1, 2022, Membership Dues shall be $100.00 per year. Therefore any new member shall be assessed $150.00 membership dues at the time of the applicant being accepted into the Club.
The Club will “Travel” a minimum of 6 times per year.
There will be a $5.00 fee for not wearing a Kolepa Hui shirt and a $2.00 fee for scores net 78 and higher.
Members may have guests for 2 consecutive weeks only and are subject to playing in the last group.
Guests must pay $6.00 for the closest-to-the-pin awards and are eligible for these awards only.
Every player must complete 18 holes and enter a valid score on each hole or risk being disqualified from any points or money awarded. (If a player leaves early before finishing their round, the player will automatically be disqualified from any money and/or points. i.e. KPs or Skins)
Every player will play the ball as it lies in the fairway and no relief is given in the fairway or rough.
If a player's ball lands in the bunker, the player may take a free drop at the nearest point of relief.
If a player's ball lands in the "Ground Under Repair" area or pig damage, the player may take a free drop at the nearest point of relief.
The point system will be updated weekly to include all winners in each flight, gross and net skins, putts, and hole-in-one’s.
One point equals one dollar.
Tournament Play Rules: Any member who wants to qualify for any tournament play must be present at the time the club's qualifying round is played.
Kolepa Hui has 4 Majors throughout the year (Club Champion “Low Gross”, Ali’i Cup “Match Play”, Sandbagger Champion “Low Net”, Ace of Aces Champion) These tournaments will be played from the same tees for the entire field (White Tees)
Playing from the RED tees: Any member that wants to play from the red tees must meet the following criteria, Be 75 years of age and have a handicap when added together meet 90+ (Age + Handicap must equal 90+) If any member meets these criteria, and elects to change tees, the Board Members will then hold a vote. Only after the Board Members vote will any member be allowed to play from the RED TEES, Once stated member elects to and is so approved to play from the RED TEES the member must do so for 6 months, any member that has elected to change tees, will only have the chance to reverse this election, once every 6 months (or halfway throughout the scheduled year.)
